‘Watching from the edge of the theatre, I observe the crowd perform as a whole. While the audience may change, each night connections are forged in the shared emotion and experience.’
For Falmouth University’s annual publication ‘The Edge’ I chose to illustrate a scene from my perspective. Working in a theatre I spend a large amount of time watching people from the side of the stalls, observing them all while remaining unperceived in the darkness. Here I love watching the sense of unity created through the performing arts, the variety of audiences, and the interactions between strangers, friends, and family - all of which I aimed to capture alongside a sense of lighting and setting within this illustration.
