Working in collaboration with the Women’s Environmental Network, this body of work was produced in response to a trip to Tower Hamlets to visually show the experiences of British Bangladeshi residents and their culinary traditions.
Inspired by an audible food history tour of the area recently made by the organisation, I responded to the brief through a variety of food and reportage illustrations to accompany the podcast’s transcript in an editorial setting. Here I worked in monoprint and ink to depict a mixture of foods described in the text and those I had observed in person. Further interviews and drawings can be seen on the wen.org.uk website
